Kindergarten is full of magic, movement and minute to minute learning opportunities. Our Kindergarteners experience a full day program in a colorful, warm and nurturing environment that is teeming with creativity. Every day is an adventure that brings something to observe, discuss, touch, count, draw or write about. Students are nurtured individually to ensure a program that meets each child where they are at. The full day allows solid instructional blocks in Mathematics and Language Arts in the morning, two recess times and an afternoon packed with Specialist Instruction.
Learning is fun and you will see this the moment you walk into our Kindergarten room. The room buzzes with excitement as math concepts are taught and reinforced through games with friends, manipulative work or technology assignments. Foundational skills in language arts develop passions in reading and interest in writing. Language centers teach Kindergarteners the effect of language on their lives. Science and Social Studies celebrate, explore and analyze our world as well as the people in it. Class work and take home projects allow students to demonstrate their observations or predictions as they apply information to real world situations. Fine Arts, Spanish, Physical Education and Music classes are all taught by specials teachers. Each class session in our Specials Schedule allows children the opportunity to extend learning and foster the whole child.
Empathy, perseverance and respect are key traits fostered in each grade but are rooted in the Kindergarten experience. These components are ingrained in every moment of the children’s day. Each day children are guided to communicate and collaborate, creating a tight knit community. Our Kindergarten graduates are confident, empowered learners, ready and excited for First Grade!
