How does this apply to the social-emotional and character development of our students? If you consider the goal, many of the components that promote these skills are contingent upon specific character traits. For example, a child who exhibits confidence will embrace the challenges that come their way and tackle them with motivation, effort and perseverance. It is important to note that each of these traits are learned behaviors and must be nurtured through consistent guidance and everyday experiences that allow children to build upon the specific skills, both at home and at school.
